LUCKNOW, 27 APRIL (H.C.). In the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the Chief Ministers regarding Kovid, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath shared information about his state regarding the situation of Kovid in Uttar Pradesh.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that in the midst of the biggest epidemic of the century, the guidance given by the Prime Minister in the last two years has not only succeeded in controlling the spread of the epidemic, but has also been able to keep the recovery level better. With the successful implementation of the Prime Minister’s policy of Track, Test, Treat and Vaccine, effective control of the Kovid epidemic remains in Uttar Pradesh.

At present, there are total 1384 active cases in the state. Out of this, only 19 people are admitted in the hospital. These people are already suffering from various diseases. Better arrangements have been made for the treatment of all. Their health is being continuously monitored.

He said that effective control of Kovid remains in Uttar Pradesh. However, for the last two weeks, cases are increasing in Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad districts of NCR. The situation is normal in the rest of the state.

The overall positivity rate of the state is 1.87 percent. Whereas in the month of April so far it was 0.17 percent. There are total 298 active cases in Ghaziabad and 697 in Gautam Budh Nagar. The number of cases per million in the state is only 06.

In view of the increasing trend of cases in two districts of NCR, we have made it mandatory to apply face masks in these two districts as well as in the entire NCR and Lucknow. We are doing 1.25 lakh to 1.5 lakh Kovid tests every day. Genome sequencing is also being done by taking samples of people found positive. All results so far confirm it to be Omicron or its sub-variant.

The Chief Minister said that so far more than 11 crore Kovid tests have been done in Uttar Pradesh, while 31 crore 24 lakh doses of Kovid vaccine have been administered. The entire population over the age of 18 has received at least one dose of the vaccine. More than 87% of adults have received both doses. In the 15 to 17 age group, 94 percent of adolescents received the first dose and over 65 percent of adolescents had received both. After the first dose, children in the age group of 12 to 14 are now being given the second dose as per their eligibility.

Continuous cooperation has been received from the Central Government for the control of the Kovid epidemic. We are also making all necessary arrangements keeping in view the challenges of the future. 508 oxygen plants are functional in the state, while more than 42 thousand oxygen concentrators are available. People are being made aware through public address system at more than six thousand places.

He said that the funds received in the form of Emergency Kovid Relief Package are being used to further improve the health infrastructure in the state. 30 to 50 beds at CHC level and 4-6 beds at PHC level. Facility is being expanded.

Uttar Pradesh has consistently followed the “Jeevan and Jeevika” mantra given by the Prime Minister. Amidst the challenges of Kovid, the revenue of the state has increased by about 25 percent and exports have increased by about 30 percent.
