GHAZIABAD, April 27 (H.S.). The lift collapsed on Wednesday at Dasna IMS College, about eight kilometers from the district headquarters, injuring 10 students. All have been admitted to a private hospital located on NH-9. The condition of three students is said to be critical. There is chaos in the college after the incident.
According to Mussoorie police station in-charge Yogendra Singh, a total of 12 students were going upstairs in the lift in the hostel of IMS College located in Dasna today. During this, the lift broke down with a jerk and fell down. College staff and other students reached the spot on the information of the lift falling. He somehow rescued the injured students trapped in the lift. Yogendra Singh said that 10 out of 12 students in the lift were injured in this accident. All have been admitted to a private hospital. The condition of three of them is said to be serious. All treatment is going on.
He said that investigation is going on at the spot. In the preliminary investigation, it seems that there were more students in the lift than the capacity. At present, the police is investigating in this matter after talking to the college management. The reason for the lift breakdown will be known only after the investigation is completed.
