New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue of unemployment, alleging that over 45 crore people have lost hope of getting jobs due to his “masterstroke”. He claimed that Modi is the “first such prime minister” in 75 years to do so. “New slogan of New India – ‘Har Ghar-Rozgar, Ghar-Ghar Unemployment. Modi is the first prime minister in 75 years whose masterstroke has made over 45 crore people lose hope of getting employment. Job,” the former Congress chief tweeted in Hindi.

He also cited a news report which claimed that 2.1 crore jobs were lost in the last five years and 45 crore people have stopped looking for jobs.

A day earlier, Rahul Gandhi took a dig at the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), saying it is actually the ‘Central Board of Suppressing Education’. The Congress MP’s remarks come days after the CBSE board revised the syllabus of class 10 and 12. The Gandhi scion also targeted the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) over the revision of the syllabus and called it a ‘national education shredder’. CBSE deals with the rise of Islamic empires in the Afro-Asian regions, Chapters related to History of Mughal Courts, Cold War and Industrial Revolution have been omitted from History and Political Science syllabus of class 11th and 12th, hence the comment to Gandhi.

On 9 April, Rahul Gandhi hit out at the RSS at a book release event in Delhi, saying, “To save the Constitution, we have to protect the institutions that are in the hands of the RSS.”
