Mumbai, 26 April (H.S.). Frustrated by their 11-run defeat against Punjab Kings, Chennai Super Kings captain Ravindra Jadeja admitted that the team is not getting off to a good start in the first six overs of IPL 2022.

CSK suffered their 6th defeat of the season on Monday. Chasing the target of 188 runs given by Punjab, CSK’s team scored 32 runs for 2 wickets in the first 6 overs of the power play.

After the match, Jadeja said, “We started very well, but gave 10-15 runs extra in the end. We didn’t execute our plans very well. Rayudu was batting brilliantly. I said earlier, it would have been better if we had restricted them to less than 175.”

“We are not getting a good start in the first 6 overs, while we are lacking and hopefully we will come back strong,” he said.

Batting first, Punjab scored 187 for 4 in 20 overs, thanks to Shikhar Dhawan’s unbeaten 88. Apart from Dhawan, Bhanuka Rajapakse scored 42 runs. At the same time, Liam Livingstone played a fast innings of 19 runs in 7 balls. For CSK, Dwayne Bravo took 2 and Mahesh Teekshna took 1 wicket.

In reply, CSK’s team could only score 176 runs in 20 overs. Ambati Rayudu scored 78 runs for CSK, while Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 30 and captain Ravindra Jadeja scored 21 not out.

For Punjab, Rishi Dhawan and Kagiso Rabada took 2-2 and Sandeep Sharma and Arshdeep Singh took 1-1 wickets.
