At least five people have been killed in a bomb blast near Pakistan’s Karachi city. Two Chinese nationals are also among the dead. According to reports, an explosion took place in a car parked on the campus of Karachi University. At least five people, including two foreigners, were killed and several others injured in a car bombing inside Karachi University.

Rescuers and security agencies reached the spot after the blast. The area has been cordoned off and rescue operation has been started. Police sources said that 7-8 people were in the van. However, the exact number of injured is not yet known.

It was initially reported that the explosion was caused by a gas cylinder. However, the police did not confirm any information about the blast. Muqaddas Haider, former DIG of Confucius Institute, Karachi, from the victim’s Institute of Business Administration, said sources said that at the moment, nothing can be said about the victim. The SP said that it is being investigated whether the blast was a terrorist attack or just an accident.
