Karachi, 26 April (H.S.). An explosion in a van near Karachi University in Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city and capital of Sindh province, shook the entire area. Four people, including three Chinese nationals, were killed in the explosion. Many other people are injured. The police have expressed apprehension that the death toll will rise.

According to the information, a white van parked in front of the Confucius Institute, a Chinese language learning center located near the University of Karachi, exploded at 1:52 pm on Tuesday afternoon. The van caught fire after the blast. People saw flames and plumes of smoke rising there. In this explosion, the director of the Confucius Institute Huang Guiping and his companions Ding Muipeng and Chen Sai died on the spot. Apart from these three Chinese nationals, Huang’s van driver Khalid, a Pakistani national, also died on the spot.

Police and rescue teams were dispatched there soon after the incident. It was told that the cylinder exploded in this van near Maskan Chowringhee. Police is investigating the reason behind this. Four people have been confirmed dead. Many others are injured. The injured have been sent to the hospital. Many of the injured are in critical condition, so the death toll is expected to rise. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has directed to take the injured to Dow University Hospital. Along with this, he has activated the Anti-Terrorism Department and has summoned the Karachi Commissioner to report the whole matter.
