Jammu and Kashmir : Jammu and Kashmir The security forces are running a big operation against the terrorists. A Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist commander was killed in clashes on Saturday in Sirahama area of ‚Äč‚ÄčAnantnag district. In the second operation in Kulgam, the terrorists took advantage of the darkness and managed to escape from the spot.

Disclosing this here today, IGP Vijay Kumar said that Lashkar-e-Taiba’s commander Nisar Ahmed Dar, a resident of Redwani Bala Kulgam, was killed in Sirhama of Kulgam. He was involved in several crimes and murders in Kulgam area.

A joint team of police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Sirhama today. During the search operation, the terrorists opened fire on the security forces as soon as the joint team reached the spot. After this the squad opened fire. Nisar was killed.

Meanwhile, in the second Army operation, a clash broke out between a joint force of security forces and terrorists in Chaki Samad village of Damhal Hanjipora in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. However, the terrorists managed to escape this time, the officials said.


After receiving information about the hiding of terrorists in Damhal area, the security forces started the search operation. The clashes started around 4 am during the search operation. To break the siege, the terrorists opened fire on the security forces and hurled grenades. So the hiding terrorists managed to escape.

Meanwhile, two Indian Army personnel were injured in the encounter. Both the soldiers have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
