Suncheon, April 8 (H.S.). India’s experienced female badminton player and third seed PV Sindhu has entered the semi-finals of the Korea Open Badminton Championship 2022. Sindhu defeated seventh seed Busanan Ongbamrungphan of Thailand in straight games in the quarterfinal match played at the Palma Stadium here on Friday.

Two-time Olympic medalist champion PV Sindhu was trailing 2-5 in the opening game but then went on to win four consecutive points to take a 6-5 lead. From here, world number 7 Indian player Sindhu did not look back and won the first game 21-10 after winning eight consecutive points in the last.

In the second game, Sindhu maintained the lead from the beginning and won the second game 21-16 to win the match with the game. Sindhu defeated Busanan 21-10 21-16 in a 43-minute quarterfinal match. In the semi-finals, Sindhu will face the winner of the match between second seed An Seong of South Korea or Saina Kawakami of Japan.
