Hyderabad : Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are at the top of the IPL points table with three wins and six points from four matches. The new team of the tournament, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), has played four matches after their three consecutive wins and lost in the opener to finish second. They also have six points and are second with a lower net run rate than KKR.
Rajasthan Royals (RR), Gujarat Titans (GT), Punjab Kings (PBKS), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and Delhi Capitals (DC) are all ranked third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh with teams. Each has two points except Delhi.
The last three teams – Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are ranked seventh, eighth and ninth respectively and are yet to open an account in the points table.
Umesh Yadav has the cracker of a tournament, where he has troubled batsmen with complex swing speeds. He is leading the ladder for KKR by 9 wickets. Yadav is followed by Yuzvendra Chahal and Avesh Khan who have 7-7 wickets.
Jos Buttler has been talking his bat this season in the IPL, swinging his bat hard at anything and everything, while playing with caution whenever the team needs to be at the crease. He leads the Orange Cap race with 205 runs. Quinton de Kock is second with 149 runs while Ishan Kishan (149), KL Rahul (132) and Deepak Hooda (130) have grabbed the third, fourth and fifth positions respectively.
