New Delhi IRCTC has decided to resume the service of providing bedroll and blanket services from April. According to media reports, passengers of Indian Railways will get pillows, blankets, sheets and towels in sealed envelopes. However, these will be made available to passengers in AC carriages only. In May 2020, in the light of rising COVID-19 cases, IRCTC suspended the service.
With the decline in Covid-19 cases, the officials have informed that they will resume the service. During the COVID-19 period, passengers had to carry their own sheets and pillows.
Service has already started in 26 trains
According to reports, this service has already started in 26 trains of Northern Railway. Apart from this, the arrangement of curtains for passengers has started in 92 trains. On 6 April, 23 more trains have resumed providing bedrolls.
