Hyderabad: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Thursday said that India has been “very open” about its ties with Russia, as well as noting that the ties should be tainted with a “political colour”. The ministry further said that it is exploring alternative modes of payment to continue transactions with Russia.

The Foreign Ministry said, “We are very open about our relationship with Russia. Political colors should not be responsible for our actions.” “Discussions are on to see what kind of payment mechanism can work in the current circumstances”, it added.
