New Delhi: Walmart Group firm Flipkart on Wednesday announced the launch of a new app Flipkart Health Plus to leverage its reach in the healthcare segment and serve over 20,000 pin codes across the country.

The Flipkart Health Plus platform will enable accurate delivery of prescription and prescription drugs to over 500 independent sellers with a network of registered pharmacists, the company said in a statement.

Jhaveri said, “Through Flipkart Health+, we aim to address the critical gap in access to genuine medicines and healthcare products and services across the country, especially in remote parts of the country, which have hitherto under-served have given.”

The app is available on the Android Play Store and will come to iOS in the future, the statement said.

Flipkart said that even though it is an intermediary marketplace platform, the company has put in place various quality check and verification protocols, which will facilitate the delivery of genuine medicines and healthcare products from independent sellers to the doorstep of the customer.

“In the coming months, Flipkart Health+ plans to add third-party healthcare providers who will provide other value-added health services such as teleconsultation and e-diagnostics to customers,” the statement said.
