The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) has asked the Indian Premier League to withdraw promotional advertisements promoting former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The SCI has made this recommendation after a complaint was filed by the Road Safety Organization. The organization says that the promotional advertisement violates traffic rules. A complaint was lodged against this announcement by the Consumer Unity and Trust Society. MS Dhoni is shown as a bus driver in this promotional ad. Those who stop the bus in the middle of a busy road. In such a situation, a traffic policeman comes to him and interrogates him. After this Dhoni replied that he is watching IPL Super Over. The traffic police easily leaves from there.
ASCI asked to remove advertisement
Thereafter, the ASCI decided to consider the complaint of the Road Safety Organization. Members of the ASCI Consumer Complaints Committee saw the advertisement with the company making the promo. After viewing the promotional advertisement, ASCI acknowledged that the advertisement violated traffic rules. The advertising company has been asked to remove or replace it by April 20. The company has acknowledged this in writing and will withdraw the promo.
