KANPUR, 07 APRIL (H.C.). Under Corridor-I (IIT-Naubasta) of Kanpur Metro Rail Project, underground section-I is being constructed between Chunniganj to Nayaganj. The work of casting the roof slab of Naveen Market underground metro station of this section has started from today. Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (UPMRC) roof slab casting work was inaugurated at Naveen Market metro station after due worship by senior officials.
The construction work of the underground metro station was started from the new market metro station itself. Starting the work of casting the roof slabs of the stations in such a short span of time after the commencement of the construction works is a big achievement for the UPMRC. Soon, slab casting work for Bada Chauraha station will also be started. The work of D-wall construction at both these stations is also in the final stage, which will probably be completed by the end of this month.
On this occasion, the Managing Director of UPMRC, Kumar Keshav, while congratulating the team of Civil Engineers said, “We have built 9 km between IIT to Motijheel. By completing the construction work of the long primary section before the stipulated time, a record was set. Now our target is that from IIT to Naubasta about 23 km. The entire corridor should also be completed in time.
