New Delhi, 6th April (H.S.). A speeding car rammed into three schoolgirls at Peeragarhi Chowk in Paschim Vihar West area of the outer district. A student died in the incident. While two girl students were seriously injured. The injured are undergoing treatment. According to the police, a truck was also in front of the car. At the same time, the accused car driver fled from the spot after the incident.
Police have seized both the vehicles. Here the angry people blocked the Peeragarhi Chowk and raised slogans against the police. Senior police officers who reached the spot pacified the people by assuring them of action. At present the police is investigating the matter.
According to DCP Sameer Sharma, the deceased student has been identified as Manisha Kumari (18). While the injured girl students have been identified as Kalpana and Sanjana. Both are being treated at Balaji Hospital. Manisha’s body has been kept safe at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem.
According to the DCP, at around 08.08 am on Wednesday, information was received that three girl students were hit by a car near Peeragarhi Chowk, which further came in contact with the truck carrying LPG cylinders, killing a girl. As soon as the information was received, the Paschim Vihar West police station reached the spot. According to the DCP, two teams have been formed to trace the accused driver as well as the owner of the vehicle.
