190 Indian embassy staff stranded in Bangladesh returned home by Air India flight

Bangladesh Violence: Sheikh Hasina's government has been overthrown in Bangladesh. In view of these incidents, many Indian airlines flying to Dhaka were stopped, which are resuming from today.

Flight service to Dhaka starts today

According to sources, Indian airlines have announced to resume flight services to Dhaka from today. These include IndiGo and Vistara, while Air India resumed its flight services from yesterday, Tuesday. Air India had announced to operate a special flight to bring back people from the Bangladesh capital. Tuesday morning's flight was cancelled but Air India operated its flight in the evening and reached Delhi airport on Wednesday morning with many Indian passengers from Dhaka.

190 embassy staff returned home

According to the information, on Wednesday, an Air India flight from Dhaka reached Delhi airport with 199 passengers and 6 newborn babies. 190 of them are employees of the Indian Embassy. Around 15 thousand Indians are stranded in Bangladesh amid the dire situation. The Indian government is in touch with Dhaka to provide security to these Indians. With the resumption of air services of Air India yesterday and Indigo and Vistara today, the stranded Indians can return to their homeland soon. The work of repatriation has begun.

Concession to passengers on reschedule

Air India said that due to the current situation in Bangladesh, passengers with confirmed bookings on any flight departing from Dhaka between August 4 and 7 are being given a one-time concession on rescheduling. However, this offer is applicable on tickets booked on or before August 5.

The situation in Bangladesh is still worse

Vistara Airlines operates daily flights from Mumbai and 3 weekly flights from Delhi to Dhaka. Indigo operates two flights daily from Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai to Bangladesh's capital Dhaka and two flights daily from Kolkata to Dhaka. However, all these airlines canceled their flights to Dhaka after the violent situation in Bangladesh. The situation in Bangladesh is still worse. After the coup of Sheikh Hasina, preparations are underway to form an interim government under the leadership of Nobel laureate Mohammad Yunus.
