18 motorcycles recovered from interstate motorcycle thieves

Shivpuri/Karaira, 27 June (HS). Karaira police has busted an interstate gang involved in stealing and selling motorcycles. In this case, police have arrested 3 people and seized 18 motorcycles.

For information, let us tell you that for a long time, the public was troubled by motorcycle thefts in the area, but the police was not getting any success even after trying hard, but due to the efficiency of City Inspector Vinod Singh Chhavai who recently came to Karaira, the police got this success, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Aman Singh Rathore and SDOP Shivnarayan Mukati, outpost Sunari received information that three persons were on two motorcycles which were without number plates. They are roaming around in an attempt to sell them, in which one vehicle has KTM written on it, which is being taken from Village Dehreta towards Doni. Both these motorcycles are stolen; the informer gave such information to the police, on which the police stopped them by checking, and a Pulsar motorcycle without number plate and a black colour KTM motorcycle were found. There were two persons on the black motorcycle, on asking their names, the person driving it told his name to be Komal son of Mulayam Rawat, age 24 years, resident of village Gokanda, Police Station Karaira, and the person sitting behind told his name to be Prakul alias Lalla son of Atal Bihari alias Atto Rawat, age 20 years, resident of village Karobah, Police Station Sehore, District Shivpuri, and the driver of the KTM motorcycle told his name to be Vicky and Jogendra son of Pran Singh Rawat, 20 years, resident of village Dhowat, Police Station Belgada, District Gwalior. When papers were asked for regarding both the motorcycles from these three persons, they said that they did not have any papers.

When the police interrogated all three, they told that both the above mentioned motorcycles were stolen and that they had stolen the other 16 motorcycles from various places like Shivpuri, Narwar, Gwalior, Jhansi and Nashik, Maharashtra and that they had sold the stolen motorcycles to other persons. The police recovered the said motorcycles from the possession of the accused at the place mentioned by them. 18 motorcycles worth Rs. 11 lakh 80 thousand have been recovered from the accused. The accused have been arrested and appropriate action is being taken against them.
