14 people died after falling 250 meters in Tempo Valley in Uttarakhand

Rishikesh: A major accident took place in Uttarakhand on Saturday, in which 14 people died. A tempo carrying 23 passengers fell into the valley, causing such a huge loss of life and property. The accident took place in Raitoli area of ​​Rudraprayag district on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway. The tempo went off the road and fell into the Alaknanda river. Other people passing by at the time of the incident tried to save the injured.

Uttarakhand SDRF Commandant Manikant Mishra said 10 people died on the spot while others died during treatment.

9 people have been injured in this accident and are being treated at Rishikesh AIIMS. Garhwal IG said that the people who died were tourists and the accident happened when they were going to Chopta area. Most of them are residents of Delhi.

District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh said that the accident happened at 11 pm.

Police-SDRF team reached the spot and started rescue operation. The vehicle fell from a height of 250 meters.

President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the dead, while Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also expressed grief. Pictures and videos of the incident have also surfaced. Since most of the areas of Uttarakhand are hilly, there are many incidents of road accidents here.
