A 105-year-old woman has obtained a master's degree from Stanford University in America. 105-year-old Ginny Hislop, who lives in Virginia, received a master's degree from Stanford Graduate School of Education (GSE) after 80 years.
Why did you leave education 80 years ago?
In 1940, Ginny was in the last semester of her course. But just before the submission of her master's thesis, the Second World War broke out. So she did not get a degree. Also, when the war began, Ginny's boyfriend, George Hislop, was called to serve in the war. Due to this, Ginny Hislop had to give up her degree to marry George. Then George helped in the war and Ginny listened to the House. Thus her education was not completed.
Hislop earns master's degree at 105
His family includes two children and four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He also served on school and college boards in Washington state for decades. Now he received his Master of Arts in Education degree on June 16.
