10 bus stops on various routes of Meerut will have a makeover

Meerut, July 17 (HS). As per the intention of the state government, the process of modernizing 10 bus stops and passenger shelters located on various routes of Meerut city by making them a makeover has been started. This will not only speed up the process of development in passenger facilities but will also pave the way for beautification of the city.

Meerut Development Authority (MDA) has started preparations to complete all these works through infrastructure fund. It is noteworthy that to complete this process, MDA has sought applications under single bid process so that the process of determining the agency will be completed and the work will be allotted to it. Rs 1.70 crore will be spent to complete this development work.

According to the action plan of MDA, the 10 bus stops and passenger shelters whose renovation process is to be completed include two bus stops of the University, Tejgarhi bus stop, Hapur Bus Adda bus stop, two bus stops in Meerut Medical College, Bachha Park bus stop and GIC bus stop. Various types of development works will be done in the passenger shelters in all these bus stops. They will be equipped with solar setup and mainly six types of development works will be completed here. The bus shelters will be six meters long and 2.5 meters wide. They will be equipped with toughened back support glass and will be built as a curve tube structure.

All the 10 Yatri Shelters will be fitted with benches with FRP sitting support system. These will have heavy durability and long operation period and will have 1750 mm long SS 304 grade benches. The roof of the shelters will be fitted with eight millimetre multi wall polycarbonate sheets. Not only this, the roof will also be fitted with false ceiling which will be fitted with one millimetre ACP sheets. LED lights of IP 67 standard will also be installed at all the bus stops and Yatri Shelters and an on grid solar inverter system of one kilowatt capacity will also be installed which will help in making the lighting system solar energy based.
